C4L (Comping 4 Live) Demo

Finally, a "Comping" feature in Ableton Live.

Comping is a process where you use the best parts of multiple takes and piecing them together to make one perfect take.

It is done by recording a number of takes on different tracks, and then each take is split into several phrases. The best regions are copied to a single track.

If you have M4L, this can easily be done. (Recording is done inside device)

Drag and Drop device on your track.

Insert c4lstart / c4lend Locators and Loop Markers

Select Path then Record.

Select a recorded take and make it a Primary track.

Loop/Solo/Play selected parts

(Comp Up) the best parts to copy into Primary track.

Export Primary track to a folder or Bounce in Place.
